I'm building my future on Faith. I took a leap of
faith two weeks ago when I decided to retire and focus this time in my life on
my passion...being a longarm quilter. Change is scary and
uncertain. Just the daily routine of not getting in the car and driving
to work is strange. Balancing time between chores around the house and
time devoted to my business of longarm quilting is challenging. My home
and taking care of it has always been of utmost importance to me. I make
my bed before I leave the house in the morning; clean up my kitchen before bed
at night. There are animals to tend, a French bulldog, 2 retired
Greyhounds, numerous cats, chickens, a pond of goldfish and Koi, cockatiels and
parakeets, oh and not to be forgotten a 20 year old box turtle named Fudge.
As I begin this new chapter in my life, I hope to look at the world differently, savoring and enjoying the things I may have missed before. Gardening year round will be one of my priorities this upcoming fall. Last spring my husband and I built a hoop house for this specific purpose. There will be honey to harvest from our bee hives. Improvements to the chicken coop are on the list also. And along the way I hope to meet new and interesting quilters.
Who knows what tomorrow has in store?
